Akoya

This spring, discover a hidden gem inside St. Cloud Rooftop Bar. Akoya offers guests an authentic temaki experience in an intimate and elevated setting atop The Knickerbocker Hotel. Led by Sushi Chef Taishi Yamaguchi and iconic chef Charlie Palmer, Akoya celebrates the art of the hand roll, featuring a menu of innovative open-style sushi offerings alongside an extensive beverage program, with international sakes and signature cocktails.

The Menu
Under the direction of Executive Chef Adam Raksin and Food and Beverage Director Chris Miller, the menu centers around temaki — delicately crafted hand rolls wrapped to order with imported and local seafood, seasonal rice from Japan, and crisp nori. A selection of Japanese-inspired small plates and mochi complete the experience, complemented by an international sake program spanning Japan, France, Mexico, New York, and beyond.

Design
Akoya’s warm, minimalist aesthetic is a seamless extension of St. Cloud Rooftop Bar, occupying an intimate space on its east side. Designed by the award-winning hospitality development firm LUCID, powered by Highgate Hotels, the space features a 13-seat sushi counter and a 16-seat dining room, creating a modern traditional experience that is both immersive and sophisticated. With sleek finishes, subtle lighting, and an atmosphere that pays homage to the Japanese art of handcrafting, Akoya is a destination for global fare in the heart of Manhattan.
